The Cotswolds is an area of south-central England which epitomises that traditional English country image we all share. It’s a truly beautiful part of the country. When my client Sanctuary Group invited me up to photograph a luxury retirement development, I naturally jumped at the chance. With only a handful of CGI and snapshot images in their possession, responsibility was handed to me to capture an extensive set of photographs which would be used across their digital and printed media. New Court is a beautiful building, dating back to 1862 when it was commissioned by an Irish military man named Captain Shapland Swiny. Having looked through historical photos of the building, it’s clear that recent and current developers have worked hard to retain many of the original features from that early era – from the ceiling coving and cornices, the grand pillar entrance and the fresh, white painted facade. A full set of internal and external images were delivered, showcasing the manicured grounds, impressive interior design, furnishings, beautifully-appointed private residences and extensive communal facilities. An enjoyable photoshoot and a proud feeling for me having produced a set of photographs which will serve the building well in to the next generation.
